The snow has returned after a brief lull, and now the wind is kicking in to remind us that it ain’t over yet. It’s difficult to measure how much accumulation because of the drifting, but I’d estimate 12 inches. I’ll brave a walk up the driveway later this morning to see if any plows have made it up here yet. Hopefully the car will still be there….
That is gorgeous. Has a haunting quality. Makes me think of the Robert Frost poem, which is one of my favourites.
I think this is a shot that could inspire a story.

You’re right! It was hard to get a good shot because my hands were shaking from the cold and the wind was in my face. I hope to get a couple of shots later this morning from the top of the driveway.

This was really beautiful, Steven. I appreciate the sacrifice you made for a great shot. Winter scenes are so timeless because the snow covers everything and evens out the landscape. Stay safe. xo

Thank you. It’s really no sacrifice… I’d be out there anyway. Maybe I’m OCD about the weather. 🙂

Hi Steven, ‘…haunting quality…’ I’ve noticed that in your photography. Best wishes, Phil

That’s a beautiful image. Rain on top of snow makes for crunchy shoveling. Here in Michigan we aren’t getting the storm at all. It’s pretty sunny today.

Thank you. I’m glad you avoided it. It’s messy outside, but comfortable inside. 🙂

Hauntingly real for sure! When i was young i loved snow. Now more than an inch is not so beautiful any more, locally anyway! 🙂

I agree. I’d rather see it from inside a warm house.

I think we are around 30 inches or so here. It could be more. It is supposed to settle down soon.

Haunting and mysterious, fits perfectly into a story scene! Thank you for putting up with the cold and giving us a glim’s of the white winter over there!
Stay safe and warm, inside! 🙂

Thank you. Today’s forecast is for sunshine, so the clean-up begins… shoveling and scraping the ice off windshields, and hopefully a few photos. 🙂
