Torrent of blood charges the veins
loudly hungry meekly sated
Breathe.
Pulsing wet cheeks, a deliberate choir
of noise from dry-throated angels
Sing.
Sculpt the air with restless fingers
praise and damn with swollen motions
Rest.
Torrent of blood charges the veins
loudly hungry meekly sated
Breathe.
Pulsing wet cheeks, a deliberate choir
of noise from dry-throated angels
Sing.
Sculpt the air with restless fingers
praise and damn with swollen motions
Rest.
A provocative poem, Steven. There’s a lot behind Breathe, Sing, Rest.

Thanks, Diana. It was a bit of a painful morning, so I have to remember to do all three. Well, maybe not sing.. out loud, anyway. π

Sorry to hear that. I’m teaching my husband how to breathe into his back spasms and it does seem to help. Hope you’re doing a little better.

That’s funny (not ha-ha)… I’ve been trying to do the same thing each morning with some breathing exercises and light yoga. I’m learning to get by on less sleep than I’d like, but I do appreciate those weekend naps! π

I haven’t been able to convince Randy to try yoga. He’s so afraid that it will trigger a spasm. But the breathing is working well. Both are healthy practices for life in general. π

Here’s a link that my wife gave me. It is VERY light yoga, and you take it at your own speed. And some of it involves sitting! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1MABOKEfpc&t=1s
It may help. I usually spend 10 minutes or so first thing in the morning, but I don’t push myself too hard.

FYI – thanks for the note on the spammed comment. For some reason WP won’t let me reply to it (?) so I’m replying here. I get spammed all the time, so no worries at all π
