A bit of a cheat… I took this early last October, while I was in full rest-mode after finally completing Ordinary Handsome. I felt restless, and spent quite a bit of time with the camera. I was fascinated by these exploding pods in the backyard, and the way the wind made them look so forlorn and yet elegant. I took several shots, but this one is probably my favorite. The way the wind tied all the silk filaments into a ribbon was an unintentional capture. Ain’t nature grand?
I officially have a week off to spend some quality time with my wife, do some heavy-duty writing, and push my job to the murkiest corner of my brain (there’s a lot of murk there, so it shouldn’t be too difficult). The forecast is calling for rain and more rain, and then when it gets tired of that, showers. Which means more time in a warm bed in the morning, and quiet, unrushed coffee time. Oh boy.
I really do love this time of year, especially when it coincides with this kind of weather. Lazy creative days. I could get used to this.
Have a great weekend everyone!
That is a stunning image!
Enjoy your break but don’t write too much! Take your gorgeous wife out on a few adventures! She’s been stuck indoors too long.

I know it. We’ve got a few things planned for the week. She needs some fresh air and something different to look at. 🙂

It looks like we might have a long week of such weather. It’s like a switch was turned on, from summer to autumn in a couple of days.
